Welcome to the Museum of the American G.I., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring American Service-men and women. Our mission is to keep their legacy alive through the preservation of equipment, uniforms and memories and, while educating the public about their service and sacrifice.
Accessibility
The museum is fully accessible to Visitors with Limited Mobility or families with strollers.
A Complimentary manual wheelchair is are available if this will benefit your comfort during your visit. Motorized wheelchair or scooter rentals are not available, but they are allowed on campus.
All public restrooms have wheelchair-accessible stalls and an Elevator is available to reach the second story rooms and mezzanine. Limited bench seating is available throughout the galleries.
Animals
Service dogs and well-behaved dogs in a backpack/ dog stroller or on a leash are welcome. When possible, please let the admission desk know that you will be entering with a dog so that our museum corgi will be prepared.
Outdoor events
We do our best to make our outdoor events as wheelchair-friendly as possible. Depending on the weather there is always potential for uneven or muddy terrain. Generally outdoor activities are a short distance from the parking area. When possible, we provide rides to and from this location to seniors, expectant or new mothers, and those with disabilities.

From College Station: Going South on Highway 6, take the Southern Pointe Pkwy / Mesa Verde Dr exit. Stay on the feeder road past Santa’s Wonderland, the museum’s entrance is before underpass.
From Houston: Going North on Highway 6, take the Southern Pointe Pkwy / Mesa Verde Dr exit.. Take the overpass to the southbound feeder road. Stay on the feeder road, past Santa’s Wonderland, the museum’s entrance is before underpass.
