History In Motion
In November, we host History in Motion, showcasing our collection of restored military vehicles through various demonstrations that highlight their historical significance and technological advancements.
Living History Weekend
Join us for our annual Living History Weekend in March, where visitors can walk through historic military camps and witness our collection of restored military vehicles in action. Experience firsthand the sights and sounds of the past as reenactors portray the daily lives of soldiers from different eras.
Remembering the Fallen
Memorial Day is the time we, as a Nation, remember those who have fallen in service to our country. The Museum of the American G.I. recognizes the fallen on Memorial Day Weekend with our Armored Support Group performing a 21-gun salute featuring three different cannons – the French 75 mm field gun, the 75 mm pack Howitzer, and the 105 mm Howitzer. The 21-gun salute is a free outdoor event.
Hands-on-History Days
Throughout the year, the Museum of the American GI offers hands-on activities that are family-friendly and suitable for children of all ages. The Hands-On History program consists of a variety of engaging and exciting education programs that help students learn about military history, people, and historical events. The museum hosts these events periodically throughout the year. We encourage you to visit our events page as well as our social media pages. If you would like to be the first to know about these events, subscribe to our newsletter.
Armored Support Group
Our Living History Programs are only possible with volunteers, especially our Armored Support Group (ASG). The ASG is the dedicated group of volunteers who demonstrate our vehicles in action and is always open to new members, age 18 +, who share a passion for military history!
One of the most visible group of volunteers at the Museum of the American G.I. is the Armored Support Group (ASG). The ASG is the group of dedicated volunteers who demonstrate the museum original US vehicles in action. The ASG members are an essential part of what makes the museum special: their passion for history and preservation makes them a wealth of knowledge for visitors, and their dedication to the museum’s mission makes them indispensable for our living history events.
