September 26 – U.S. Army Military Police Corps Established

September 26, 1941

The U.S. Army Military Police Corps is composed of Soldiers who perform policing duties. They sustain law and order in the Army and work to keep crime from occurring. Military police go through training at the United States Army Military Police School.

The U.S. Army Military Police Corps also conducts investigations and reports to the Provost Marshal General as does the United States Army Criminal Investigation Command.
