SUMMARY:Pigeon Day
DESCRIPTION:Do not just read about history – experience it!  Join us for a special Hands-on History event as we explore the important contribution homing pigeons made from WWI to Korea.  Our friends\, “Camp Lili”\, will be displaying their very special collection of US Signal Corps Pigeon equipment.  You will learn how these silent-winged warriors delivered messages for all branches of the US military.  You will discover what it took to train and care for these special heroes.   And best of all\, you will see the special equipment that was used to take the pigeons to the front lines to support both infantry and airborne troops! \n \n  \n

SUMMARY:Remembering the Fallen 2023
DESCRIPTION:May 28\, 2023 \nThey shall grow not old\, as we that are left grow old:\nAge shall not weary them\, nor the years condemn.\nAt the going down of the sun and in the morning\nWe will remember them.  “For the Fallen” by Laurence Binyon \nMemorial Day is the time we\, as a Nation\, set aside to remember those who have fallen in service to our country. \nJoin us on Sunday\, May 28 at 3 PM as we Remember the Fallen on Memorial Day Weekend. Our Armored Support Group will perform a 21-gun salute featuring three different cannons – the French 75 mm field gun representing WWI\, the 75 mm pack Howitzer representing WWII\, and the 105 mm Howitzer representing the Vietnam War.\n\nThe 21-gun salute is a free outdoor event.\n  \nFirst time visiting? \nWill this be your first time attending an event at the museum? If so\, you might have a lot of questions about what is allowed at our events. Never fear! We want to ensure that our event is safe and fun for the whole family\, so we answered some common questions here: \n[fusion_faq filters=”” number_posts=”-1″ post_status=”” cats_slug=”” exclude_cats=”” orderby=”date” order=”DESC” featured_image=”” type=”” inactive_icon=”” active_icon=”” margin_top=”” margin_right=”” margin_bottom=”” margin_left=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility\,medium-visibility\,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” boxed_mode=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” hue=”” saturation=”” lightness=”” alpha=”” background_color=”” hover_color=”” divider_line=”” divider_color=”” divider_hover_color=”” padding_top=”” padding_right=”” padding_bottom=”” padding_left=”” title_tag=”h4″ fusion_font_family_title_font=”” fusion_font_variant_title_font=”” title_font_size=”” title_line_height=”” title_letter_spacing=”” title_text_transform=”” title_color=”#112445″ icon_size=”” icon_color=”” icon_boxed_mode=”” icon_box_color=”” icon_alignment=”” fusion_font_family_content_font=”” fusion_font_variant_content_font=”” content_font_size=”” content_line_height=”” content_letter_spacing=”” content_text_transform=”” content_color=”#112445″ toggle_hover_accent_color=”” toggle_active_accent_color=””][/fusion_faq]
